CONWAY, Ark. – Centenary posted a strong showing at the Hendrix Relays Saturday after having a month away from competition as the Ladies and Gents wrapped up sixth and fourth-place finishes, respectively.

Oklahoma Baptist and Henderson St. finished 1-2 in the men’s and women’s team standings.

The Gents posted four top-four finishes while Ladies finished inside the top four twice.

The Gents 300-yard individual medley and Ladies 200-yard freestyle relay highlighted Centenary’s finishes, both in third place. The Ladies relay team of Laura Huning, Michelle Gaubert, Kayla Thornhill and Ashley Griffen finished five seconds behind OBU’s 1:39.39 winning mark at 1:44.62.

Austin Butler, Ross Olivier and Matthew Pittman finished third in the 300-yard individual medley relay in 2:57.12, one of three teams to break the three-minute mark. Texas-Permian Basin (2:45.38) edged OBU’s 2:45.68 time for first.

The Ladies other top-four finish was a fourth-place tally in the 400-yard medley relay, finishing in 4:17.81. Kathlyn Rivers, Chelsea Russell, Gaubert and Huning nearly caught Hendrix (4:16.12) for third as OBU (4:04.46) and Arkansas-Little Rock (4:08.00) ran away with first and second, respectively.

Michael Schwandt, Olivier and Cameron Brando knocked off seven seconds from their seed time in the 300-yard backstroke relay, finishing fourth at 2:47.89. Olivier and Pittman joined Arah Ataei and Collin Baker to wrap up another fourth-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:30.71. OBU and Henderson St. dominated the event, finishing 14 and 15 seconds ahead of third-place Texas-Permian Basin.

The final top-four finish for the Gents was the 1500-yard backstroke relay. Pittman, Baker and Ataei combined for a 15:26.48.
