MONROE, La. – After opening the season with a top-three finish, Centenary’s women’s golf team posted a 14^th-place finish in a 16-team field packed with Division-I competitors at the ULM Fred Marx Invitational Sept. 24-25.

Freshman Jamie Wright bested teammate Justine Kemp by a stroke to lead the Ladies, who finish ahead of Jackson State and New Orleans. Wright finished tied for 60^th and Kemp was tied for 62^nd. Playing 36 holes Monday, Wright turned in 80 and 78 before carding a third-round 83 (241). Kemp made up four strokes on her young teammate with a closing 79, improving on her 82-81 tallies in the first 36 holes.

Lamar’s Julie Aime (-2) and Southern Mississippi’s Brandi Rodriguez (-1) were the only two golfers under par. Rodriguez paved the way for Southern Miss, who beat Sam Houston State by four strokes for the championship wile Aime’s squad wrapped up a fourth-place finish behind McNeese State. Host ULM rounded out the top five.
