SHREVEPORT- Carly Slovensky scored the game-tying and game-winning goals Tuesday night to lift Centenary to a 3-1 non-conference women’s soccer victory over Louisiana College in the regular-season finale. Centenary wrapped up its regular season and will prepare for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference this weekend in San Antonio, Texas. The win improved the Ladies to 5-9-1 while the Wildcats fell to 4-11-1. Slovensky netted the Ladies first goal at the 24:08 mark to tie the game at 1-1 aft. She wasn’t done yet, scoring her again at the 30:55 mark to put Centenary up 2-1, keeping the lead for the night. Those two goals increased Slovensky’s team lead to seven goals on the season. Centenary led 2-1 at halftime. Madison Alexander led Centenary with four shot attempts and scored once for the Centenary’s other goal at the 57:31 mark. Laurie Priftis had two shot attempts and had one shot on goal. Centenary outshot Louisiana College 11 to 10. Louisiana College jumped ahead in the 8th minute thanks to an own goal by Centenary after a Ladies corner kick deflected off Hannah Bate, sliding past Brittaney Dunn. Dunn and her counterpart, Emily Breaux, each grabbed three saves on the night. |
