Cheer Places First In AmeriCheer Virtual Game Day Competition
The Centenary Cheer Team brought home first place in the AmeriCheer virtual game day competition scored on November 16.
Shreveport - The Centenary Cheer Team brought home first place in the AmeriCheer virtual game day competition scored on November 16.
The team recorded and submitted their game day routine which consisted of a sideline chant, band dance, cheer, and fight song for a three-minute total performance. The team received notable scores for their effective use of signs, Poms, and flag as well as their turns and levels. The team is headed to Cheer America on December 3 in Houston, Texas for its next competition.
Centenary continued its impressive month after the Maroon and White Hit Zero at its first competition in program history on Nov. 12 at the American Allstar Competition held at the Shreveport Convention Center. The team received scores of 16.8/20, 23.6/30, and 46/50 and received 1st place in its division under the direction of first-year head coach Kaylee King.
Centenary achieving "Hit Zero" was extremely significant and impressive as it meant that "all stunts, tumbling, jumps, dance in the performance of its routine were executed without any deductions from the judging panel."
