Track & Field Back In Action At Jim Mize Invitational
The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams are set to compete in the annual Jim Mize Invitational on Saturday hosted by Louisiana tech University at the Jim Mize Track and Field Complex.

The Ladies and Gents return to action after an impressive performance last weekend in the Carl Knight Invitational hosted by Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Saturday's meet begins at 8 a.m. with field events through 3 p.m. Running events are set to start at 11:30 a.m. and go through 4:25 p.m.
Sophomore Christian Cormier (Lafayette, La.) finished 10th in the 100-meter dash (10.87) and 15th in the 200 meters (22.19). He also teamed with junior Obadiah Butler (Crowley, La.), freshman Omar Butler (Crowley, La.), and freshman Richard Ross (Normangee, Texas) to finish ninth in the men's 4 x 100 meter relay (42.98).
Obadiah Butler also finished 23rd in the 100 meters (11.11) and Omar Butler was 38th (11.45). In the 200 meters, sophomore Herman Pride (Baton Rouge, La.) finished 47th (23.49), Ross was 49th (23.52), and Obadiah Butler placed 57th with a time of 24.12.
Freshman Clayton Hancock (Buna, Texas) placed 33rd in the 400-meter dash (51.82) and sophomore Bryan Washington (Wylie, Texas) finished 39th in a time of 53.57. Freshman Jay Scott (Slidell, La.), Hancock, Pride, and Washington earned a ninth-place finish in the 4 x 400 meter relay (3:37.90)
Freshman Grayson Shugart (McKinney, Texas) finished 17th in the women's long jump (4.71m) and 38th in the 200 meters (27.67) and sophomore Ella Walton (Lafayette, La.) was 22nd in the discus (26.80m).
