Irving, Texas - The Centenary men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday in Irving, Texas.
The meet is hosted by fellow SCAC member University of Dallas. The women begin at 9 a.m. with the men following at 10 a.m. This will be the first competition for the Ladies and Gents this season, after COVID-19 effects cancelled the fall portion of their schedule.
"With COVID-19 still among us this has been a very unorthodox Cross Country season," said Centenary head coach Brandon Lewis-Graham. "With no competitions in the fall, along with the conference championship being in the winter, it is a season we had to completely change around practice plans and training focuses.
"No matter what changes or new protocols have been placed the team has adjusted and made sure to put in the necessary work so when it is time to compete, they will be ready.
"We are hoping for great weather and great times that will boost our confidence going into track season."
In an announcement made prior to the first championships of the 2020-21 academic year, the SCAC reiterated its current fan policy as it relates to attendance at athletic events on its member institutional campuses.
