Women's Golf Places Fifth at SCAC Championships
The Centenary women's golf team finished fifth at the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Tuesday at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
Blanco, Texas - The Centenary women's golf team finished fifth at the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Tuesday at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club.
The Ladies shot a final-round 121-over par 409 in Tuesday's final round to finish with a 257-over 833 total for the tournament. Centenary shot a 136-over par 424 in round one on Monday.
Trinity claimed the team title after shooting a 69-over par 645 (320-325) to finish eight shots ahead of runner-up Southwestern. Madison Goldberg of Southwestern shot a 10-over par 154 to claim medalist honors, finishing one shot ahead of runner-up Raquel Hill of Trinity.
Junior Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas) was the top finisher for the Ladies as she finished 19th after shooting a final-round 89 to finish with a total of 183 (+39). Senior Shannon Orlopp (Rogers, Ark.) finished 24th after shooting a 55-over par 199, junior Lindsay Strohm (McKinney, Texas) placed 27th after finishing at 71-over 215, and freshman Madison Wing (Shreveport) shot a 92-over 236 to finish 30th.
