Centenary Athletics Announces New Sports Medicine Team
Centenary athletics has announced its new Sports Medicine Team with the additions of Dr. Todd Rinder and Lydia Haak, Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr announced.
Shreveport – Centenary athletics has announced its new Sports Medicine Team with the additions of Dr. Todd Rinder and Lydia Haak, Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr announced.
"I am pleased to welcome both Dr. Rinder and Lydia to our Centenary athletics family," said Orr. "The future of our sports medicine department and the athletics department as a whole is bright, and the two of them will help us elevate things and serve our student-athletes in so many ways."
Rinder, a native of Torrance, Calif., will serve as Assistant Athletics Director/Sports Medicine, and Haak, a native of Columbus, Ind., is Head Athletic Trainer. Rinder is a graduate of Oregon State University with a PhD in Health and Human Performance with a specialization in Sports Medicine. He also received an MA in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training and Biomechanics from San Diego State University and has a BA in Exercise Science from Fresno State University.
"I look forward to helping all of our student-athletes here at Centenary excel and compete in the best overall condition possible, said Rinder.
Haak graduated from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisc. with a BS in Sports Medicine and has a Masters' degree in Athletic Training. She played soccer for four years at Concordia, which is like Centenary, a division III school. Haak is currently working on publishing her thesis – "The Effect of a Comfort Dog on Pressure Pain Threshold".
"I am honored to be joining Centenary College as the Head Athletic Trainer," said Haak.
"I am excited to use my passion to serve and support these athletes, coaches, and athletic department staff. Nothing brings me greater fulfillment than witnessing and aiding these athletes stay successful, improve, recover, and grow as people. I am looking forward to this new adventure."
