Centenary Athletics: Weekend Preview - April 17-19

Shreveport – The postseason is near but the regular season is not over yet for multiple teams. Another busy weekend is on tap in the world of Centenary Athletics!
Baseball and Softball are in action this weekend and on Sunday, the men's and women's golf teams tee off in the annual Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Baseball is home to face the University of St. Thomas in a three-game series while Softball is on the road to face St. Thomas in Houston.
The Diamond Gents (17-17, 12-12 SCAC) and Celts (12-19, 11-13 SCAC) will begin the series on Friday at 1 PM with a doubleheader at Shehee Stadium. The third and final game is TBD due to the potential for rain on Saturday.

Centenary is 6-4 at home this season and will play its final six games of the regular season in the friendly confines of Shehee Stadium as the Maroon and White face the University of the Ozarks next weekend.
The 2026 SCAC Baseball Tournament will be held at The Depot at Cleburne Station in Cleburne, Texas as the double-elimination tournament will begin on April 30 and will feature the league's top six teams. The Diamond Gents are currently in seventh place in the conference standings but just a half game behind Austin College for the final spot. St. Thomas is in ninth place.
The Ladies (16-16, 14-10 SCAC) and nationally-ranked Celts (24-7, 22-2 SCAC) begin their series with a DH on Friday at 6 PM and finish on Saturday with a single game at NOON. St. Thomas is ranked 13th in the current NFCA/GoRout Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Ladies will finish their regular season next weekend at Ozarks.
The 2026 SCAC Softball Tournament will be held May 1-3 in Abilene, Texas and hosted by McMurry University. The top six teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season qualify for the event. The Ladies are in fourth place in the standings while Celts are second.
The Ladies and Gents will compete in the annual SCAC Golf Championships set for April 19-21 at Hawk's Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas.
