Swimming Completes Day One At SCAC Championships
The Centenary swimming teams completed day one of competition at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Wednesday as the Ladies are tied for fifth place and the Gents are seventh at the Garland ISD Natatorium.

Centenary's best finish of the day was by the Ladies in the 800 Free Relay as the foursome of freshman Bailey Allemeier (Altus, Okla.), sophomore Reece Esser (Huntsville, Texas), sophomore Cicely Jackson (Lafayette, La.), and sophomore Hannah Waddell (Shreveport, La.) finished fourth in a time of 8:25.60.
The Gents placed sixth in the 800 free as senior Antonio Barbee (Plaquemine, La.), freshman Kai North (Tyler, Texas), freshman Adam Stelly (Opelousas, La.), and freshman Sake Stroderd (Sulphur, La.) swam a time of 7:22.48.
The Ladies finished sixth in the 200-medley relay as Esser and Waddell teamed with sophomore Kennadi St. Clair (Duncanville, Texas) and Freshman Ella Walton (Lafayette, La.) to post a time of 1:58.44
Competition begins at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday with the prelims of the 500 Freestyle followed by the 200 IM, then the 50 free and finishes with the 400 Medley Relay. The finals of those events will be held starting at 6 p.m.
Friday's schedule consists of prelims of the 200 Free Relay beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle. 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, women's 3-Meter Diving, and Men's 1-Meter Diving – both at 12:30 p.m.
A special recognition of all the senior student-athletes is set for 5:45 p.m. on Friday followed by evening finals. Saturday's action begins at 10:30 a.m. and is followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
