Malagarie Leads Ladies At Ouachita Invitational
A school record in the men's 4 x 100 meter relay and two individual personal records highlighted the efforts from the Centenary men's and women's track and field teams in the Ouachita Invitational hosted Ouachita Baptist University on Saturday at the Hickingbotham Family Track & Field Complex.
Arkadelphia, Ark. - A school record in the men's 4 x 100 meter relay and two individual personal records highlighted the efforts from the Centenary men's and women's track and field teams in the Ouachita Invitational hosted Ouachita Baptist University on Saturday at the Hickingbotham Family Track & Field Complex.

Sophomore Gabrielle Malagarie (Lafayette, La.) continued the impressive start to her season on Saturday as she finished third in the high jump (1.45m) and eighth in the long jump (4.62m).
The Gents' team of junior Christian Cormier (Lafayette, La.), sophomore Cameron Hobley (Coushatta, La.), sophomore Dwayne Mills Jr. (Slidell, La.), and sophomore Jay Scott (Slidell, La.) ran the school record time of 42.12 in the 4 x 100 meter relay, Scott set a personal record in the long jump (6.87m) to claim the win and freshman Michael Cunningham (Carencro, La.) threw a school record 43.83m in the discus.
Hobley also finished 19th in the 100 meters (11.41) and 23rd in the 200 meters (23.08), Mills Jr. was sixth in the long jump (6.34m), sophomore Chaz Smith (Prairieville, La.) was 15th (5.01m), and freshman Ian Hunter (Princeton, Texas) finished ninth in the 3000m Steeplechase (12:08.51).
Sophomore Clayton Hancock (Buna, Texas) was the Gents' top finisher in the 400 meters as he placed eighth (52.13) while junior Bryan Washington (Wylie, Texas) was ninth (52.34) and he also finished 27th in the 200 meters (23.29). Cormier was the Gents' top finisher in the 100 meters (11.03) and sophomore Richard Ross (Normangee, Texas) finished 40th (12.15). Junior Herman Pride (Baton Rouge, La.) was 34th in the 200 meters (24.07).
UP NEXT: Centenary will return to action next Saturday in the Belhaven Invitational in Jackson, Miss.
