Welcome to this week's gym talk! The Ladies had their first meet of the competition season last weekend! We competed against Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Congratulations to the Freshies Jenny Jackson and Jerrica Harris who got out on the collegiate competition floor for the first time and experienced the thrill of being a college gymnast! We were a little shorthanded last weekend, so went out and accomplished what we wanted to; competing with confidence and making our routines.
After the meet, we traveled to Pittsburgh and enjoyed a home cooked meal from Ashley's parents. Ashley's mom made us chicken soup and salad, it was so delicious! It was nice to be able to relax in Ashley's home and enjoy each other's company. Thank you so much to the White family for welcoming us into their home.
We are looking forward to continuing to build on our accomplishments from this past weekend as we have many exciting competitions in the near future!
After a snow and ice storm curtailing our short week of practice, the Ladies are off to St. Louis, where we will compete against MIC team Lindenwood University! With such a quick turn around this week and only two short practices, we are ready to improve our performance from last week.
After that, we will be gearing up for five home meets in February, starting February 2! We are so excited for the opportunity to have our equipment set up in the Gold Dome, and to welcome our fans to our home meets to cheer us on. The home meet dates are: February 2nd, 4th, 9th, 11th, and 23rd. We will then compete at nearby Texas Woman's University (TWU) on February 25.
