ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Centenary Gymnastics team finished sixth with a 188.550 total, while junior Tavia Smith earned Second Team All-Conference recognition in the all-around at the annual Midwest Independent Conference Championships Friday night, March 23.
Host Lindenwood (195.225) captured its fourth straight MIC title, beating out runner-up Texas Woman's (194.650). UIC (194.375) took third while SEMO (193.875) took fourth. Illinois State (192.075) and the Ladies round out the six team field.
Smith garnered All-Conference honors after finishing fourth in the all-around with a total of 37.375. Freshman Sierra Ponder recorded a career high on vault with a 9.375.
Senior Ashley White received a season high of 9.700 on beam and matched a season best on vault, receiving a 9.725 for the second meet in a row. Sophomore Evelyn Harris finished 10th on beam, matching a season best with a 9.775.
The Ladies Gymnastic team will find out if any individuals qualified for NCAA Regional competition (April 7) or for the USA Gymnastics Championship (April 13-15) on Monday, March 26.
