Softball Selected as "Team of the Week"
The Centenary softball team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Ladies completed a three-game series sweep over the University of Dallas in Southern Collegiate Athletic play last weekend at home.
Shreveport - The Centenary softball team has been selected as Centenary Athletics' "Team of the Week" after the Ladies completed a three-game series sweep over the University of Dallas in Southern Collegiate Athletic play last weekend at home.
The Ladies (12-11, 10-5 SCAC) swept the Crusaders in a doubleheader to begin the series, winning game one 8-0 in five innings and 4-1 in game two and polished off the sweep with a 6-1 win in the series finale. The Ladies have won a season-best six games in a row and are now 10-2 at home. The current winning streak is Centenary's longest since winning eight in a row last season.
The Ladies are on the road this weekend to face Austin College (4-15, 4-13 SCAC) in Sherman, Texas. The Ladies and 'Roos begin the series on Friday with a single game set for 7 PM and a DH on Saturday at NOON.
The Ladies then return home April 2-3 to face Texas Lutheran. Centenary, which has completed half of its league schedule, is currently in fourth place in the conference standings.
