No. 6 Seed Ladies Open SCAC Tournament On Friday Versus Concordia

The Ladies (16-22, 14-16 SCAC) and Tornados (28-12, 23-7 SCAC) will play the second game of the tournament, following the contest between the host War Hawks and the University of the Ozarks (11 AM).
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS CONCORDIA: The Tornados lead the all-time series 8-1 and won two of three against the Ladies in Austin during the regular season. Concordia has won five of six meetings over the last two seasons since the Tornados joined the SCAC.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE TORNADOS: Concordia is hitting .351 as a team with 11 HR and has a team ERA of 3.18. Kylie Kirk has been outstanding at the plate as he is hitting .430 with a team-high eight home runs and a team-high 50 RBI.
The Ladies earned their 10th-straight berth in the SCAC Championship this season and their 14 conference wins are the most in a single season in the division III era (2012-present).
Centenary is batting .284 as a team with a .350 OBP and is slugging .356 with one home run, 272 hits, 165 runs scored, 60 doubles, and three triples.
Sophomore DH Kaitlynn Alello (Denham Springs, La.) led the Ladies in batting average (.369) this season and finished in the top 25 in the conference as she hit .375 in league play. She finished with a .490 OBP and slugged .536 and in 84 AB and only struck out 11 times while drawing 10 BB. Alello had nine multi-hit performances and 12 extra-base hits, 24 runs scored, and three stolen bases.
Senior 1B Abigail Hodgson (Florence, Texas) had another solid season for the Ladies as she hit .345 with a .431 OBP and slugged .429 in 27 games. She finished with 29 hits, 28 RBI, seven doubles, and nine runs scored. An extremely disciplined and patient hitter, Hodgson struck out just once all season in 84 AB while drawing 12 walks. She recorded eight multi-hit games and was outstanding defensively, committing just one error in 220 total chances with 211 putouts for a .995 fielding %.
She was named SCAC Hitter of the Week on April 13 in the final home series of her career against McMurry as she went 7-for-11 (.636) with a .667 OBP and slugged .818. Hodgson accounted for an impressive seven RBI in the series and began the series on a high note as she had a single-game career best four hits in a 9-6 win, finishing 4-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and a run scored.
Junior CF Noelle Sandmann (Huntsville, Texas) had a solid all-around season for the Ladies as she hit .337 with a .369 OBP and slugged .347 and was at her best in conference play as she finished .384/.423/.397. She led the team in stolen bases with 16 and was not caught all season. Finished with 33 hits, 20 runs scored, 11 RBI, four BB, four sacrifice hits, and a double. She added four outfield assists on defense.
Senior 3B Morgan Dawson (Natchitoches, La.) tied for the team lead in hits (33) and hit .344 for the season with a .381 OBP and slugged .438. She had 15 RBI, had 42 total bases, and nine doubles along with 10 multi-hit performances. She stole two bases and scored 14 runs. Senior UT Emma Crow (Krotz Springs, La.) is hitting .271 (.303 OBP/.329 slugging) with 23 hits, 12 RBI, and five doubles. Senior LF Laine Sullivan (Prairieville, La.) is hitting .268 (.344 OBP/.280 slugging) with 22 hits and six RBI.
Senior 2B/SS Catherine Stokes (Natchitoches, La.) had another impressive season for the Ladies as she hit .267 (.319 OBP & .343 slugging %) with 28 hits, 16 runs scored, 23 RBI, six doubles, a triple, and a stolen base. In 105 AB she only struck out five times while drawing nine BB. Stokes had 36 total bases, six multi-hit performances, five sacrifice hits, and four sac flies. Finished with a .967 fielding % and .979 in conference play as she moved between two difficult positions in the infield.
Senior C/DH Jaeden Thrasher (Forney, Texas) is batting .278 (.293/.392) with 15 RBI, nine doubles, and 22 hits and junior 2B Hilary Pillaro (Centerville, La.) is hitting .279 (.367/.346) with 29 hits, 13 RBI, 14 BB, three doubles, and two triples.
Freshman P/INF Haydyn Schexnayder (Egan, La.) leads the pitching staff with 18 appearances (10 starts) and has a 4-5 record with a 5.39 ERA in 62.1 IP. Senior P Alexis Roach (Pineville, La.) is next with 17 appearances and nine starts and is 3-1 with a 5,53 ERA. Senior P Riley Myers (Shreveport, La.) is 1-5 with a 5.37 ERA in 44.1 IP. Emma Crow is 2-8 in the circle with a 4.34 ERA in 38.2 IP in 13 appearances and five starts. Freshman P Dixie Williams (Haughton, La.) is 4-3 with a 5.76 ERA in 14 appearances and nine starts and has thrown 41.1 IP.
Last season, the Ladies went 2-2 in the SCAC Tournament falling one game shy of advancing to the championship round.
