Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: March 10 Edition

The Ladies just had a great weekend in Denton, TX against TWU and OU for the second time this season! Last week after our double-meet weekend at SEMO I have to say the Ladies really stepped it up this meet! Leading up into this weekend's meet was practice, practice, practice and even though we didn't get a break in between the Ladies never stopped accelerating!
Saturday afternoon it was time for the Ladies to load onto the bus and head off to Denton. Before we hit the road Mr. Dan told us that Coach Jackie woke up with severe vertigo that morning and was not feeling well enough to make it on the bus or even potentially the meet. He gave us some words of wisdom and reassured us that we are more than capable of doing some great gymnastics! The new game plan was for Mr. Dan and Coach Jackie to drive up Sunday morning of the meet if her health allowed and she was in the best condition to coach! So we headed to Texas with our assistant Coach, Wendy in charge! Whether we had Coach Jackie or not the Ladies knew their jobs and roles and were more than willing to step up to get the job done!
Sunday morning the Ladies departed for TWU, which we had not been to since our unexpected last meet of the season last year… yes, LAST SEASON! We started off the meet on floor and I was in fact so proud of our Ladies for stepping out there and really owning the floor! I'd like to shout out the floor roars Kendall Huff, Jenny Jackson, Lauryn Stiff, Jerrica Harris, Kendall Sanders & Rose Deshler for getting out there looking confident as ever, and I had a great time being a part of that line-up as well! Next up was vault and the Ladies had some powerful vaults and junior Kendall Sanders and sophomore Kendall Huff came out with some rocking twisting vaults as well! Bars had a few hiccups, but that didn't stop the Ladies from picking it up and lead to a solid finish. Our bar stars also brought out some new season high scores from junior Xian Baumgartner and sophomore Lauryn Stiff. The Ladies wrapped up this tri-meet on beam with a great start from Senior Sierra Ponder with a solid routine and career high, which then led to some more season highs from seniors Jerrica Harris and junior Kendall Sanders… can somebody say BEAM QUEENS!?
Our next meet is Senior Night this Friday in our beloved Gold Dome. I couldn't be more excited, but also not going to lie… I'm a little sad this our last round with seniors Sierra Ponder, Jenny Jackson and Jerrica Harris in the Dome. Although it will be a bittersweet moment, the Ladies are going to rock it out and who knows you may see some people on events you may have never thought - haha!
Glad I got to catch up with y'all again and I hope to y'all come back to see what is soon to come for the Ladies!
