Ladies Fall At ETBU In Season Opener
The Centenary women’s soccer team fell 3-0 to the East Texas Baptist University Tigers on Sunday in its season opener in non-conference play at Cornish Field.

Marshall, Texas – The Centenary women's soccer team fell 3-0 to the East Texas Baptist University Tigers on Sunday in its season opener in non-conference play at Cornish Field.
The Ladies (0-1) were down 1-0 at halftime and then the Tigers (1-1) added two goals in the second half to secure the victory. ETBU finished with a 22-6 advantage in shots and took four corner kicks to the Ladies' one. The Tigers were whistled for nine fouls while the Ladies picked up four.
Sophomore GK Kaniyah Hill (Tyler, Texas) made her Ladies' debut after not playing last season due to an injury. She played all 90 minutes and made eight saves. The Tigers used a pair of goalies as Cadence Tischler started and played the first 78:58 and made one save and Mi'a Lila went the final 11:02 and made one save.
Grace Shirley gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead with a goal in the seventh minute off an assist from Liliana Garcia and Sarah Ramos scored twice in the second half, finding the net in the 54th and 74th minute. Michelle Medellin recorded assists on both of Ramos's goals.
The Ladies will be off for nearly two weeks before they return to action on Sept. 14 with a non-conference contest at LaGrange College in LaGrange, Ga.
