Ladies Blank Tougaloo In 15-0 Rout
The Centenary women's soccer team set a record for most goals scored in a match in the division III era on Monday evening as the Ladies recorded a 15-0 victory over the Tougaloo College Bulldogs in a non-conference match at Atkins Field.

The Ladies (2-4-2) built a 1-0 lead at halftime over the Bulldogs (0-4) and scored five more goals in the second half to cruise to the win. Monday marked the first meeting between the two teams. Centenary set D3-era (2011-present) single-match record for shots (58), points (37), shots on goal (32) and assists (seven).
Junior D/MF Kylie Zeller (Denham Springs, La.) and freshman F Jenevieve Willis (Bossier City, La.) each scored three goals and senior D/MF Kaitlyn Bordelon (Shreveport, La.) scored two to lead the Ladies' offensive attack.
Sophomore MF Shona Carlton (Ponchatoula, La.), sophomore MF Sarah Crenshaw (Alexandria, La.), sophomore D Kailey Hancock (Dickinson, Texas), freshman MF/F Kaylee Harris (Dickinson, Texas), sophomore GK/MF Zoe Keller (Waggaman, La.), senior MF/D Desiree Rodriguez (Forney, Texas), and sophomore MF Marie Smith (Haughton, La.) also scored for the Ladies.
Freshman MF Matia Adkins (Owasso, Okla.), senior MF Aubrey Burkhardt (Bossier City, La.), sophomore D/MF Kylee DeVore (Carrollton, Texas), freshman MF Sydney Hamm (Sterlington, La.), sophomore F/MF Lowrey Lain (Haughton, La.) each had one assist.
Freshman D Lilyanna Dupont (New Orleans, La.) and sophomore MF Caila Baldwin (Gretna, La.) each tallied a pair of assists and Bordelon added one to go with her two goals while Willis also had one assist in addition to scoring three times.
Zeller and Willis join just four other players to score three goals in a match in the D3 era and Bordelon is the 17th to score a pair. Dupont and Baldwin are the 12th and 13th players to tally a pair of assists in a match in the D 3 era.
Sophomore GK Kaniyah Hill (Tyler, Texas) started and played the first half and the versatile Keller came in and played the second half as each received credit for a shared shutout. The Bulldogs played three keepers as Nathalia Argueta started and took the loss as she played the first 18:21 and allowed three goals while making three saves. Mei-Lei Lane came in for Argueta and allowed two goals in her 1:58 and Precious Womack replaced her and played the next 69:31, allowing 10 goals and making 14 saves.
Centenary finished with a staggering 58-0 advantage in shots, took 11 corner kicks to the Bulldogs' zero, and the match featured 10 fouls – six whistled on Tougaloo and four on Centenary.
The Ladies will have a quick turnaround as the University of the Ozarks Eagles are in town on Tuesday evening to open Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play in a match set for 5 p.m. The three-game homestand concludes on Friday with another SCAC contest against the University of St. Thomas Celts at 7 p.m.
