Muskingum and McNeese will face each other at 11:30 AM as the exciting and historic day features three exciting matches in the Gold Dome. Centenary's senior class will be recognized before the start of the Ladies' game against McNeese at 1 PM. In addition to Sunday being the first STUNT game in history at home, it is also the first time the Ladies have played a full 16-round STUNT Game and the first time they've played more than routines 1 & 2.
At the 2026 NCAA Convention last month, all three divisions voted to approve stunt becoming an NCAA championship sport, with its first NCAA championship projected for spring 2027.
Stunt transforms traditional cheerleading skills into a head-to-head, four-quarter format emphasizing athleticism and precision. Teams compete in partner stunts, pyramids, and jumps and tumbling, with points awarded based on execution.
The sport is governed at the collegiate level by USA Cheer and continues to grow through robust high school and club pipelines.
The Ladies opened their season in the McNeese Tournament last Sunday as they played three matches against host McNeese, Texas Woman's University and Texas A&M University-Kingsville in Lake Charles.
In game one, Centenary faced off in an 8-round game versus the host Cowgirls, a division 1 opponent. While the Ladies were unable to score on the hosts, they set new program firsts by playing the entirety of the third quarter and fourth quarter jumps and tumbling, a place where the Ladies had to give away several automatic points last season.
Notable players for game one were junior Leah Dawson (Shreveport, La.) and junior Dalila Ramirez (Austin, Texas) for partner stunts. Ella Wilson and junior J'Anna Sweat (Pitkin, La.), for pyramids and tosses. Amelia Jones and KaNeya Hatcher-Davis for jumps and tumbling. Lastly, junior Kaitlynne Anderson (Carlisle, Pa.) was a notable stand out for quarter four.
In game two, the Ladies saw a familiar face in Division II opponent Texas Woman's. During the 8-round game, the Ladies only took the floor five of the eight sections due to routines being called by the Pioneers that were above playable routines for the team.
Players to note for game two include freshman Kelsey McPherson (New Orleans, La.) for Partner stunts, junior Ezmeriah Gonzalez (Longview, Texas) and sophomore Bryanna Hutcherson (Normangee, Texas) for pyramids and tosses and Dalila Ramirez and freshman Ella Wilson (Shreveport, La.) for jumps and tumbling.
To round out the day, Centenary played its final match-up versus Texas A&M Kingsville and were able to place their first season points on the board by going within two for pyramids and tosses two and within two for quarter four pyramids and tosses two.
Key players for game three were freshman Kim Davis (Leesville, La.) and senior Jo Hoffman (Ragley, La.) for partner stunts, freshman Ja'Kyra Allen (Pelican, La.) for pyramids and tosses and Ezmeriah Gonzalez and Leah Dawson for jumps and tumbling.
MATCH ONE SCORE: 12-0 vs McNeese
MATCH TWO SCORE: 11-0 vs TWU
MATCH THREE SCORE: 13-3 vs Kingsville
The Ladies, who were eighth in the country in the division III preseason rankings, finished eighth nationally out of 13 teams last season. Centenary, which was ranked seventh in the preseason in 2025, is the first and only NCAA Varsity STUNT team in the state of Louisiana, as McNeese is a club team. As the only DIII team in the south, the Ladies were forced to play cross divisional the entire 2025 season.
