Nashville, Tenn. - Junior Kaitlynne Anderson (Carlisle, Pa.) and freshman KaNeya Hatcher-Davis (Forrest City, Ark.) were named to the STUNT National Championship Tournament All-Tournament Team on Friday.
The All-Tournament Team selections are nominated by their coaches based on their power rankings from the tournament and selected based on their excellent performance at the National Championships. Both Anderson and Hatcher-Davis were Honorable-Mention selections.
"I am proud of these two outstanding athletes for their contribution to our team not only during the tournament but throughout the season," said Centenary head coach Kaylee King. They have both received some of the highest power rankings each season and have been major players on the floor for us this year."
"As coaches, we turn in our top 15 players in power ranking order. During the tournament, we had several athletes with the same power ranking, so we also submitted their rounds of play during the tournament as well. Once we submit, we're unaware of how many will be placed on each tournament team until the announcement. I'm happy to see all programs who attended are represented and thankful for our two recipients!"
USA Cheer hosted the STUNT National Championship Tournament from April 23-26 at Lipscomb University. The Ladies entered the tournament as the #6 seed after finishing their regular season with an 8-9 record.
In game one of the tournament, Centenary took on the #3 seed from St. Mary's College. While the Ladies were unable to capture the win, they put out hard-fought routines and were able to put three points on the board against the # 3 seed.
In the second round of the tournament, the Ladies faced off against the #4 seed Misercordia University in an eight-round game. After the coin toss, Centenary played three solid quarters and had a well-played showing in quarter four to round out the game. With a final score of 13-2, the Ladies fished tournament play.
