Shreveport - The Centenary women's soccer team lost 2-0 to the LaGrange College Panthers on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference contest at Atkins Field.
The Ladies (0-5-1) were back in action following a 2-2 tie against Texas College on Tuesday at home. The Panthers improved to 2-4-1 and won for the first time on the road while the Ladies are 0-4-1 on their home field this season.
Kennedi Miller scored an unassisted goal in the 10th minute to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead and Gabby Worthy scored in the 24th minute, assisted by Kaia King, to make it 2-0.
Freshman F/MF Morgan Stancliff (Pensacola, Fla.) made her first-career start in goal for the Ladies and went the distance, making nine saves. The Panthers played a pair of goalies as Anna Wright (1-1-1) started and played the first half to get the win, making one save. Kendall Lewis played the second half and also made one save.
The Panthers finished with a 17-7 advantage in shots and 11-2 in shots on goal. Each team took two corner kicks and the teams combined for 11 fouls (seven on Panthers and four on the Ladies. Two yellow cards were issues with both to the Panthers.
The Ladies remain at home when they return to action on Friday against Millsaps College in a non-conference match set for 5 PM.
