Reece Esser And Isabela Vasquez Shine For Ladies On Friday At SCAC Championships
Junior Reece Esser (Huntsville, Texas) earned a fifth-place finish in the Championship Final of the 100-Yard Butterfly and a sixth-place finish in the 100-Yard Backstroke in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Friday as the Ladies are in sixth place headed to the final day of competition at the Garland ISD Natatorium.
Garland, Texas – Junior Reece Esser (Huntsville, Texas) earned a fifth-place finish in the Championship Final of the 100-Yard Butterfly and a sixth-place finish in the 100-Yard Backstroke in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Friday as the Ladies are in sixth place headed to the final day of competition at the Garland ISD Natatorium.
The Ladies have 185 points while the Gents are in seventh place with 177 points.

The Ladies and Gents are joined this week by Austin College, Colorado College, Hendrix College, McMurry University, University of the Ozarks, the University of St. Thomas and Asbury University for the four-day event. The Gents finished fourth at the event last season and earned 292 points as they recorded their best finish in the event since also finishing fourth in 2021 while the Ladies placed sixth and tallied 265 points.
Esser swam a time of 59.84 in the 100 fly and 1:02.42 in the 100 Back while sophomore Isabela Vasquez (Lafayette, La.) finished eighth in the Championship Final of the 100-Yard Breaststroke (1:15.63).
Saturday's action begins at 10:30 a.m. and is followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
