Toriano Williams Joins Football Staff As Wide Receivers Coach
Toriano Williams has joined the Centenary football staff as Assistant Coach and will serve as the Wide Receivers Coach, Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr announced.
Shreveport – Toriano Williams has joined the Centenary football staff as Assistant Coach and will serve as the Wide Receivers Coach, Director of Athletics and Recreation David Orr announced.
Williams, a Shreveport native, joins head coach Byron Dawson's staff and comes to Centenary from Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., where he served as both offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach over the last two seasons and had two receives rank in the top 10 nationally in receiving yards. He is a Louisiana Tech University graduate and earned a Master's degree in Education from Louisiana Christian University. Williams played professionally as a receiver for Memphis Pharaohs.
Williams returned to Shreveport and began his coaching career at his high school alma mater, Woodlawn High School. He continued his twenty-year career serving as assistant coach, Offensive Coordinator, Head Coach, and Athletic Director.
As Head Coach of Delhi High School (Delhi, La.), Williams' team made a quarterfinal appearance in the playoffs for the first time in school history and he led Peabody High School (Alexandria, La.) to its first district championship in 25 years and was named the 2015 CenLa 4A Coach of the Year.
