Ladies Seventh After First Round at SCAC Preview
Whitney, Texas – The Centenary women’s golf team is in seventh place after day one at the 2024 SCAC Preview as the Ladies began their season at a familiar course.
Whitney, Texas – The Centenary women's golf team is in seventh place after day one at the 2024 SCAC Preview as the Ladies began their season at White Bluff Golf Course on Monday.
The Ladies, who finished their 2023-24 season at the very same course in the conference championships, shot a combined 385 at White Bluff Golf Course on Monday. The team was led by freshman Haylee Crowder (Haughton, La.) who is currently tied for 12th place after shooting an 88 (+16). Junior Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) shot a 23-over par 95 and is tied for 22nd place.
Sophomore Mya Thompson (South Jordan, Utah) shot a 99 (+27) to finish the first round tied for 31st overall, followed by her teammate, freshman Amber Shaw (Hughes Springs, Texas) who shot a 103 (+31) to finish the round 36th overall, and sophomore Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) shot a 112 (+40) to sit in 40th place.
The University of St. Thomas, the designated tournament host, is the day one leader after shooting a team score of 330, one shot ahead of second-place Southwestern University. Ryleigh Erickson of SU is the individual leader after one round following her 4-over par 76.
The Ladies will tee off at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday for the second and final round.
