Ladies Post Solid Round Two Score To Sit In Seventh Place At SCAC Championships
The Centenary women's golf team shot a 71-over par 359 on Monday in round two of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships as the Ladies moved up to seventh place on the New Course at White Bluff Golf Resort.
Lake Whitney, Texas - The Centenary women's golf team shot a 71-over par 359 on Monday in round two of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships as the Ladies moved up to seventh place on the New Course at White Bluff Golf Resort.
The Ladies shot 45 strokes lower on Monday after posting a 116-over par 404 on Sunday in the opening round. Centenary is at 187-over par 763 for the tournament. The women are being tested by a par-72, 5,373-yard course.

Trinity University holds the team lead after 36 holes as the Tigers shot a 25-over par 313 on Monday after a 38-over par 326 in round one to lead second-place Southwestern University by 40 strokes. The University of Dallas moved up from sixth to third place after shooting a 49-over 337 on Monday which followed a 77-over 365 on Sunday as the Crusaders will enter the final round with a 126-over 7-2 total.
Schreiner University is in fourth place at 129-over par 705, three shots behind Dallas, and the University of St. Thomas, the designated host for the tournament, is in fifth place at 130-over par 706 and one shot behind Schreiner. Texas Lutheran University is sixth (+162 – 738) ahead of the Ladies and McMurry University is eighth at 203-over 779.
Trinity's Lauren Huddleston shot up the leaderboard as she shot an even-par 72 on Monday and is the individual leader at 9-over par 153, six shots ahead of her teammate – Alejandra Sanchez De La Fuente Molino, who shot a 5-over par 77 on Monday after a 10-over 82 in round one for a tournament total of 15-over 159. Jessica Mason, another Trinity golfer, is third at 16-over 160 and one shot behind her teammate. Rachel Harris of Southwestern was the leader after round with a three-over 75 in round one but shot a 17-over 89 on Monday to fall to fifth place.
Freshman Haylee Crowder (Haughton, La.) leads the way for the Ladies entering the final round as she shot a 15-over 87 on Monday, improving seven strokes from a 22-over par 94 on Sunday. The rookie is currently tied for 19th place after finishing in a tie for 25th place after round one.
Freshman Amber Shaw (Hughes Springs, Texas) moved up seven spots from round one to two as she shot an 11-over par 83 on Monday, showing drastic improvement after posting a 33-over 105 on Sunday.
Sophomore Mya Thompson (South Jordan, Utah) is in 34th place at 49-over par 193 and sophomore Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) is right behind her in 35th place at 57-over par 201. Thompson has shot rounds of 97-96 and Templeton 108 and 93. All four Ladies lowered their scores from round one to two as Shaw shot 22 shots better from Sunday to Monday and Templeton 15 shots better.
Templeton will be the first of the Ladies to tee off in Tuesday's final round as she will go off at 8:25 a.m. followed by Thompson (8:33), Shaw (8:41), and finally Crowder at 8:49 a.m.
