Georgetown, Texas - The Centenary women's golf team shot a 79-over par 367 on Monday in the opening round of the West Region Invitational hosted by Southwestern University as the Ladies are in fifth place head to Tuesday's final round at Berry Creek Country Club.

The women's field includes the host Pirates, the Ladies, Northwestern-St. Paul, the University of Texas at Dallas, and Trinity. The women, being tested by a par 72,5617-yard layout, will tee off at 8:30 a.m. for the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Trinity is the day one leader after shooting a 17-over par 305 to lead the host Pirates by 21 strokes who shot a 38-over 326. UT-Dallas is third (+40 – 328), and Northwestern-St. Paul is fourth after shooting a 71-over 359. Trinity's Jessica Mason is the individual leader at 1-over par 73.
Freshman Haylee Crowder (Haughton, La.) led the way for the Ladies on Monday as she shot a 13-over par 85 and is tied for 11th place. Freshman Amber Shaw (Hughes Springs, Texas) and sophomore Mya Thompson (South Jordan, Utah) are tied for 21st place at 20-over par 92 and sophomore Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) is 27th after shooting a 26-over par 98.
