Lacrosse Announces 2026 Season Schedule
The Centenary lacrosse program has announced its 2026 season schedule as the Gents will open the regular season at home against LaGrange College on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 PM at Atkins Field.
Shreveport – The Centenary lacrosse program has announced its 2026 season schedule as the Gents will open the regular season at home against LaGrange College on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 1 PM at Atkins Field.
The Gents, led by sixth-year head coach Billy LeClair, are set for 14 games this season – seven at home and seven road/neutral contests. Centenary will play Rhodes College on April 11 in its home finale and finish the regular season at Colorado College on April 15. The Gents' roster features nine returners and 17 newcomers.
Garrett Faktor was promoted to Offensive Coordinator and a full-time assistant coach for the Gents in October as he enters his third season with the program in 2026. Faktor was part of the Gents' 2024 season as a volunteer assistant coach and last season, he guided the Gents to their best offensive season in program history as the Maroon and White scored 161 goals, averaging 14.6 goals per game, and added 90 assists for 251 total points.
The Gents exploded for a program record number of goals against Northland on April 19 and scored 20+ goals three times during the season. Centenary finished ninth nationally in shooting percentage, 34th in scoring offense, 35th in Man Up Offense, 40th in points per game, and 57th in assists per game.
Steve Martino enters his second season as assistant coach for the Gents and also serves as the defensive coordinator and Kaleb Coates enters his first season as a volunteer assistant for the Gents. Coates, a graduate student, played 38 games and made 31 starts for the Gents from 2022-25, and served as captain his senior season. Jena Roberts enters her fourth season serving as the Gents' Strength and Conditioning Coach.
The Gents will have two home games in the month of February - Hendrix College on Feb. 7 and Huntingdon College on Feb. 21, and play three-straight home games in March – Heidelberg (March 11), Spalding University (March 14), and Keene State (March 17). Centenary will hold its annual Senior Day on March 14 against Spalding. The contest against Rhodes will be the Gents' lone home date in April.
Centenary's road/neutral site opponents will consist of Warren Wilson College (Feb. 14), Brevard College (Feb. 15), Augustana College (March 6), Cornell College (March 7), Trine University (March 20), Hanover College (March 21), and Colorado College.
A new policy implemented will require fans to pay to attend all Centenary home athletic events and tickets can only be purchased online. NO cash sales will be available. Centenary students, faculty & staff are allowed into every home event FREE with a valid Centenary ID.
