Lacrosse Aims to Remain Unbeaten On Road This Weekend
The Centenary lacrosse team looks to remain unbeaten this weekend as the Gents are on the road for a pair of non-conference contests beginning on Friday with a matchup against Augustana College set for 6 PM at the PepsiCo Recreation Center.

Rock Island, Ill. – The Centenary lacrosse team looks to remain unbeaten this weekend as the Gents are on the road for a pair of non-conference contests beginning on Friday with a matchup against Augustana College set for 6 PM at the PepsiCo Recreation Center.

The Gents (5-0) and Vikings (3-2) will be meeting for the first time on Friday. Centenary, off to its best start in program history, is 2-0 on the road this season while Augustana is 0-1 at home.
Centenary will finish its road trip on Saturday against Cornell College (1 PM) in a game also played at Augustana College.
The Gents earned a hard-fought 13-11 victory over the Huntingdon College Hawks in a non-conference contest on Feb. 21 at home and the Vikings edged Spalding University, 9-8, in overtime on the road on Feb. 28 in their most recent action.
Centenary scored double-digit goals for the fifth time in five games in its win over Huntingdon as sophomore A Noah Walsh (Mount Prospect, Ill.) scored a game-high five goals to lead the Gents and freshman O/MF Aiden McQuat (Lafayette, La.) had three.
Freshman MF Andrew Hayden (Bryant, Ark.) and junior M Ethan Hewett (Bossier City, La.) each scored two goals and freshman FO Gavin Ferrington (Bossier City, La.) added one. Walsh added two assists and sophomore D Carter Romero (Lafayette, La.) had one. Freshman GK Jake Huff (Carlisle, Mass.) went the distance and recorded a season-high 18 saves.
The Gents are number one in the country in goals scored (118), assists (74), and points (192) entering the weekend. The Maroon and White also lead the nation in Face-Off Winning % (.830) as they have won 142-171 FO's so far this season. The Gents also rank seventh in clearing % (.941) and 11th in ground balls (210).
Sophomore A Gamble Harvill (Bossier City, La.) leads the country in goals (39) and goals per game (7.80) while Noah Walsh leads the way in assists (41) and assists/game (8.20) and is also tied for 9th in goals/game (5.00) and has scored 25 this season. Walsh is the national leader in points/game (13.20) and Harvill is third (9.00).
Freshman FO Gavin Ferrington (Bossier City, La.) leads the country in Face-Off Winning % (.922) as he is 95-103. The rookie also ranks seventh in ground balls/game (12.00) and has a national-leading 60 this season.
