Shreveport – Sophomore A Noah Walsh (Mount Prospect, Ill.) needed just one game in his Gents' career to add his name to the record book.
Walsh, a transfer from Anderson University, set a new program record for points in a game with 15 with his whopping eight goals and seven assists in Centenary's dominating 27-10 victory over the LaGrange College Panthers in a non-conference contest at Atkins Field last Saturday in the season opener.
The Gents (1-0) tied their program record for goals in a game against the Panthers as they took a 16-4 halftime lead and cruised to the victory. Walsh scored two goals in the first quarter, three in the second, two in the third, and one in the fourth.
The previous mark for points in a game was nine, accomplished four times last season - twice by former Gent Jordan Cook and by both sophomore A Gamble Harvill (Bossier City, La.) and junior A Gibson Harvill (Bossier, City, La.) in a 27-9 victory over Northland College. Walsh's 15 points are also the sixth-most in a single game by a D3 player in NCAA history.
Centenary returns to action on Saturday at home against Hendrix College at 3 PM.
