Snell Earns Another Top 10 Finish For Gents In Crossing Creeks Invitational
The Centenary men's golf team shot a 96-over par 936 to finish in 11th place on Tuesday at the Fabric Solutions and Technologies Crossing Creeks Invitational hosted by LeTourneau University at Crossing Creeks Country Club.

The Gents shot a 24-over par 304 in Tuesday's final round, their lowest of all three rounds of the event, at the par 70, 6,639-yard course as they opened their Spring season. California Lutheran University on the team title at 13-over par 853, finishing 22 shots ahead of runner-up and tournament host LeTourneau (+35 – 875).
Centenary shot a 72-over par 632 (317-315) on Monday as the Maroon and White finished the day in 12th place after two rounds of play. Cal Lutheran's Tate Evans won the individual title after firing a 7-under par 203 and was the only golfer in the field to finish below par. William Baker of Hendrix College finished second at 1-over par 211.
Junior Aubrey Snell (Shreveport, La.) was the Gents' top finisher as he shot a 7-over par 217 to finish seventh. Snell was tied for 25th place after Monday's action in which he shot a 9-over par 149 (76-73) but fired up the leaderboard on Tuesday after a 2-under 68 – his lowest round of the season. The top 10 finish was Snell's third of the season.
Mississippi University for Women (MUW) finished third, Hendrix and East Texas Baptist University tied for fourth, LETU's "B" team was fifth, Schreiner University finished seventh, Buena Vista University eighth, Moravian University was ninth, and Howard Payne University finished 10th ahead of the Gents. Kean University finished 12th and Kean's "B" team finished in 13th place.
Three golfers finished in a three-way tie for third place at 2-over par 212 - Cal Lutheran's Ryan Mattivi, ETBU's Drew Marshall, and Buena Vista's Ashton Richey. Senior Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) recorded Centenary's second-best finish as he shot a 28-over par 238 to finish in 56th place. Borchert shot a 27-over 167 (83-84) on Monday and was excellent on Tuesday as he fired a 1-over par 71 – his lowest round of the season.
Freshman Mason Wiener (Holland, Pa.) tied for 57th place at 29-over par 239 (81-76-82), and freshman Trey Bishop (Oklahoma City, Okla.) finished in 63rd place (+34 -244) after rounds of 77-82-85). Senior Colton Mayer (Heath, Texas) finished 77th (+51 – 261) after rounds of 88-90-83 and senior Parker Christensen (Castle Rock, Colo.) finished in a tie for 81st place at 72-over par 282 (88-95-99).
NEXT UP: The Gents will play host to their annual home tournament, the Hal Sutton Invitational, next Monday and Tuesday (March 16 and 17) at The Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City.
