The University of Dallas is the designated host school for the three-day event featuring 18 holes each day. Centenary is joined by the host Crusaders, Concordia University, Hendrix College, LeTourneau University, McMurry University, Schreiner University, Texas Lutheran University, and the University of St. Thomas. The field is being tested by a par-72, 6,898-yard course as the tournament continues on Tuesday with round two.
LeTourneau and TLU share the team lead at 4-over par 292 after one round and McMurry and Dallas are tied for third and two shots back at 6-over par 294. Three players are tied for the individual lead at 3 -under par 69 – McMurry's Eli Brinton, Iain Griggs of Dallas, and Oliver Naumann of Hendrix.
Senior Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) led the way for the Gents as he shot a 2-over par 74 and is tied for 14th place. Junior Aubrey Snell (Shreveport, La.) is tied for 33rd after shooting a 6-over 78, freshman Trey Bishop (Oklahoma City, Okla.) shot a 7-over par 79 and is tied for 39th, freshman Mason Wiener (Holland, Pa.) is 43rd after an 11-over 83, and senior Colton Mayer (Heath, Texas) is in 45th place after shooting a 14-over par 86.
