Gents Edged By Buccaneers On Friday, 12-11
The Centenary lacrosse team was edged 12-11 by the Beloit College Buccaneers on Friday afternoon inside Strong Stadium.

Beloit, Wisc. - The Centenary lacrosse team was edged 12-11 by the Beloit College Buccaneers on Friday afternoon inside Strong Stadium.
The Gents (2-3) played their second close game after falling 13-10 to the Cornell College Rams on Thursday in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The Buccaneers evened their record at 1-1 with Friday's win. The teams were tied at 2-2 after the first quarter and then Beloit outscored Centenary 4-3 in the second to hold a 6-5 halftime lead. The Buccaneers edged the Gents 3-2 in the third to lead 8-7 headed to the final period in which the Maroon and White scored four times to Beloit's three, but it was not enough as the Gents came up one goal short.
Centenary finished with a 46-40 advantage in shots, 37-30 in ground balls, and went 15-16 on clears while Beloit finished 19-25. The Buccaneers turned the ball over 20 times while the Gents had 19 and the Gents were 15-26 on face offs with the Buccaneers finishing 11-16.
Senior A G'Colby Spivey (Dallas, Texas) and sophomore M Ethan Hewett (Bossier City, La.) each scored three goals to lead the Gents' offensive attack, senior M Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.) had two, and freshman A Gamble Harvill (Bossier City, La.), sophomore A Gibson Harvill (Bossier, City, La.), and freshman A/M Connor Shaver (Leander, Texas) each had one. Spivey had a team-high four assists and Cook tallied two.
Senior GK Dylan Miller (Shreveport, La.) played all 60 minutes in the net and made 14 saves and Eric Seo also went the distance for Beloit and recorded 17 saves. Liam Walker scored four goals to lead the Buccaneers, and three players (Will Palmer, Jordan Rice, and Rilan Larmore) each scored two. Frank Pagano and John Imbriale each scored one and Walker added two assists. Ryder Story had a team-high four assists and Isaac Guttormson had one.
