The Gents (2-3) have played their first five games of the season on the road and were edged 12-11 by the Beloit College Buccaneers last Friday in Beloit, Wisc. Point University is an NAIA school located in West Point, Ga. and competes in the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC). The Skyhawks enter Wednesday's game at 3-4 overall and 2-2 on the road. Centenary and Point will meet for the second season in a row after the Skyhawks recorded a 13-5 win in Shreveport last March.
Centenary has been productive on offense this season as the Maroon and White have scored 58 goals, an average of 11.6 goals per game, and have tallied 33 assists for a total of 91 points. Eight Gents have scored at least one goal and six players have scored five or more - senior M Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.), sophomore M Ethan Hewett (Bossier City, La.), freshman A Gamble Harvill (Bossier City, La.), sophomore A Gibson Harvill (Bossier, City, La.), freshman A/M Connor Shaver (Leander, Texas), and senior A G'Colby Spivey (Dallas, Texas).
Gamble Harvill has scored a team-high 13 goals, Cook has 11, Hewett had 10, and Gibson Harvill and Spivey each have 10. Cook and Spivey are tied for the team lead in assists with nine, Gibson Harvill has six, Hewett four, and Gamble Harvill has two while three players have one assist each. Senior GK Dylan Miller (Shreveport, La.) has started all five games and has recorded 96 saves with a season-high 30 last week at Cornell College.
Thomas Van Alstine (21), Malyke Sillers (20), and Rodney Oakley (11) have combined to score 52 goals this season for the Skyhawks while GK Aaron Robinson has started all eight games and made 106 saves.
