We started this week fresh off our retreat, Coach Jackie and Mr. Dan did a great job hosting us and leading us in great team bonding exercises. I can't believe this is the last retreat we will have at the Lake Shack, but we made the most of it. Coach Jackie held a 1920's Murder Mystery Party and we all had a blast and were laughing for hours afterwards. I had some great actresses on my team… maybe one day they'll make their debut;).
We had a great start to the week in the gym and ended on a high note this week with our team day on Saturday! We had 4 recruits in town this weekend and we all went to the pumpkin patch together. We spent the afternoon hanging outside in the nice weather, bouncing on the "jumpy thing", finding our way through the corn maze, and maybe one of us tried our hand at bull riding :>) Of course we had our usual photo shoot too!
Now to talk about what we have accomplished in the gym this week. We have made great progress every week but especially this last week. I think everyone made some improvements on things they have been working on! We are battling some injuries right now, although, injured or not, everyone works hard day in and day out to improve in their gymnastics or just becoming a better teammate and stepping up where the team needs them. I want to shoutout all my teammates that come in everyday to support us all, as well as shout out myself and all my teammates beginning to make their comeback!
We have a very mentally tough team this year so a few bumps in the road will not slow us down. As one of our speakers told us one night after practice and a quote that has stuck with me since, we must stay Above the Line. No matter the adversity we face we must overcome it in the next turn or next week, and I believe my team really shows this to be true.
Well Ladies fans, that is all I have for you this week! I cannot wait to check in this season! We have a fun 2022 scheduled and I am so ready to see what this great team accomplishes! Thanks for all the support and see you in 2022!
