Nine Gymnasts Named WCGA Academic All-Americans
Nine Centenary gymnasts were named Academic All-Americans for the 2021-22 academic year by the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA), the organization announced on Wednesday.
Ithaca, NY – Nine Centenary gymnasts were named Academic All-Americans for the 2021-22 academic year by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA), the organization announced on Wednesday.
"Congratulations on another amazing, record-breaking year of academic success for all of the student-athletes, coaches and support staff," Melanie Hall, WCGA Chair of the Board and Head coach at Cornell University, said.
"To continually pursue excellence in both the classroom, as well as the gym, takes immense effort, preparation and time management and is truly inspiring. It is exciting to see the continued academic success of so many gymnasts across the country, in all divisions, year after year."
All nine Ladies honored boasted a 3.5 overall grade point average for 2021-22 and three Ladies – Senior Kendall Sanders (Spring Branch, Texas), junior Kendall Huff (Riviera, Texas), and junior Kennedy Stephens (Bella Vista, Ark.) all achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA and were just three of 228 (14.53%) student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA.
The other six Ladies honored are junior Rose Deshler (Hastings, Minn.), senior Kendall Knaps (Prairieville, La.) junior Madison McCary (Ozark, Mo.), sophomore Isabel Plaza (San Antonio, Texas), junior Taylor Ann Wilson (Memphis, Tenn.), and freshman Emma Lavelle (Mandeville, La.).
