Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Dec. 2 Edition
Please enjoy this special "Double Gym Talk" Edition!!!
Hey there, Ladies Gymnastics Fans! Sophomore Roxanne Myers here with this week's gym talk!
After a short week of class on Monday and Tuesday, your favorite Ladies went off on their journeys home for Thanksgiving break. The Ladies have been non-stop progressing in the gym and the classroom all semester. It's safe to say we were extremely excited for a very well-deserved break. We flew off into the skies, drove off across highways and byways, and we all made it home safely to our families.
Our very own Izzie Plaza hosted a French exchange student over the break. She made sure her guest had the whole traditional Thanksgiving experience starting with some good food and watching football.
A few of our Texas and Louisiana Ladies met up over the weekend for a rival football game between LSU and Texas A&M! It was an exciting game, but the best part was the time we got to spend with our teammates, cheering for our home states, but happy to be together.
After enjoying the holiday with their hometown friends and family, the we all traveled back to the Shreve for a Sunday night practice. Senior Xian Baumgartner had some travel excitement with delayed and canceled flights. But thanks to Senior Kendall Sanders, they both eventually arrived safe and sound on campus. After the boring travel day, the Ladies finished the night off with some flips, of course. We had some great twisting on vault, beautiful swinging on bars, and great work happening on beam. It is good to see some of our teammates who have been sidelined start to get back into the game and continue getting better! With only ten official practices left of the semester, this team is more determined than ever to make the most of their time before Christmas break.
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, and I cannot wait to see all the Ladies Gymnastics Fans this season!

XOXO,
Hey Ladies fans! It's Sophomore Izzie with a report on our week leading up to Thanksgiving break.
With the holiday season coming up the Ladies have been working hard preparing for season and finals.
Starting the week off, the Ladies did some amazing work putting routines together and gaining consistency. The vault shakers have been killing it with new skills in the works. Not to drop any names, but Taylor Wilson may be dropping into the role of vault shaker sometime soon with her Yurchenko tuck full. That will give our lineup five twisting vaults and a couple of 9.8 start values and higher. In addition, we will have a couple injured athletes twisting their vaults by mid-season too! Our Bar stars are shining bright with a new and unique dismount from Junior Lacey Wedge. We are moving all of our dismounts to hard mats and cleaning up all of our amazing routines.
Our beam queens and floor roars are putting up a fight for line-up with more and more Ladies getting their routines together. It is fun seeing all our new choreography come together, having three amazing coaches doing our choreography is so awesome because we are getting great variety in our routines!
Rylie Molina is back again showing us why she is a queen on the beam with her beautiful series. Our coaches are going to have their work cut out for them when it comes time to choose line-ups.
Shout out to Sophomore Roxy Myers for showing us mettle with her recovery from her surgery. She is showing the Ladies and everybody else what it means to stay positive, trust the process and to be a great teammate no matter your role.
Season is approaching fast, and the Ladies are working hard to be ready for it. Looking forward to seeing our fans and supporters this year!
This is Sophomore Izzie Plaza signing off. See you at our first home meet on January 23rd.
