Hey Ladies fans! It's freshman Mylia Vidtor bringing you this week's gym talk.
Hey Ladies fans! It's freshman Mylia Vidtor bringing you this week's gym talk.
The Ladies just returned to campus from winter break and are ready to jump into our last few practices before we begin our 2022 Gymnastics season.
We had a New Year's Eve team retreat at Coach Jackie's house where we discussed what our goals are for the season and what it is going to take to achieve them. We keep a visual of our goals posted in the gym as a gentle reminder of our weekly and monthly focus as we head into the season next week.
I wanted to give a few shout-outs to some of my teammates as we have had some stand-out moments over our winter break. Shout-out to sophomore, Roxanne Myers, as she is finally got out of her sling this week and is in the gym supporting her teammates while showing out with her leg conditioning. Another huge shout-out goes to Junior, Leilani Johnson! She started tumbling on the floor again after being out for a while due to an injury and competed in our vault lineup for our practice intrasquad. I can't wait to see what the future holds for these two Ladies.
Your Centenary Ladies ended the week with a black and maroon intrasquad and we are now four days out till our meet season begins! Originally, we were supposed to have our Gold Dome Intrasquad this week, but we were invited by the LSU Tigers to be a part of their season opener on January 7th in Baton Rouge Louisiana. This is an incredible opportunity for us as we get to compete in front of a big crowd.
Your Centenary Ladies will be shown on the SEC Network. Hopefully, you get to tune in and watch us!
Looking forward to this next week of training and I cannot wait to compete in our first home meet against the United States Air Force Academy on January 23 at 1 pm! Please be sure to check our updated Covid protocols for fans on our website: www.gocenteanry.com
This is freshman Mylia Vidtor, signing off!
