Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: December 21 Edition

Hi Ladies Fans, this is freshman Riley Navarro with my first Gym Talk!
Recently, the Ladies had our Intrasquad in the Gold Dome, and it was a special moment for our team! Competing in the Dome for the first time made everything feel so real and exciting as we continued preparing for our first meet in three weeks!
This Intraquad was especially meaningful because it was our first time performing in our home, and the Freshies first meet day experience! Being in the Dome brought a new level of energy which pushed us to put our best foot forward and everyone to bring it!
This experience gave me a new look into what college gymnastics truly looks and feels like. From warm-ups to competition, the team energy was unmatched. The Ladies supported each other every step of the way. Whether it was hyping each other up, helping set up equipment, or offering encouragement before routines, we were all there for one another and it truly creates such a heartwarming bond. The constant encouragement helped me stay calm and confident before my routines and helped me live in the moment.
The Intrasquad also gave us the chance to test our routines in a competition-like setting. From the upperclassmen helping me out with my tattoo to the cheers during every routine, it makes me so excited to start the season! My favorite part was dancing with my team before my beam routine and it really relaxes me to know I have such a great group of girls to build energy off of.
Another favorite moment of the intrasquad was hearing the cheers echo through the Gold Dome. It reminded me how special it is to represent Centenary and compete alongside such an encouraging, driven group of teammates. Moments like these truly highlight the strong bond we share as a team.
Overall, our first intrasquad in the Gold Dome was a meaningful step forward as we prepare for the season ahead. I'm so grateful to be part of this team and can't wait to continue growing together. As always, GEAUX LADIES!!!
Hey Ladies fans, it's senior Claire Flores! This past weekend we had our intrasquad in the Gold Dome! The Lad's were on fire, and it was something you didn't want to miss. I think it is safe to say that we are looking great, and the Centenary Ladies are ready to crush it this season.
I am so proud of how this team tackles challenges head on and this intrasquad was no exception. Everyone was locked and INNIT together. There were many great flips, sticks, and cheers! (Both the encouraging and holiday kind ha!.) Some special highlights were freshman Nyah Washington's awesome Yurchenko full on vault!! On the bars sophomore Erin Pinder never fails to amaze us, and if you want to talk about a beam queen? Or 2… How about sophomores Skyla Cruz and Peyton Burford giving us a show!!
To finish us out on floor, Senior Amy Foret will always show up and tumble out of this world. I want to shout out our freshman Nyah, Leila, Mallory, and Riley for how they handled the intrasquad. They looked confident and prepared no matter their role. Our team has put in a lot of work this preseason and it was great to get to show it to all our friends and family. This is a special team, and I can't wait to see what the Ladies have in store. Merry Christmas and be on the lookout for our first meet!
