Garritt Romero Named SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week
GARRITT ROMERO OF LETOURNEAU UNIVERSITY, a first-year right-hander from Manvel, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week of the Week for games played from Monday, April 20 through Sunday, April 26.

Romero tossed his first-career complete game in a 6-1 win over Ozarks at home on Thursday which set the tone for the Diamond Gents' series sweep. He allowed just one earned run in his nine innings of work on five hits with a BB and four K's. He faced 32 batters and threw just 76 pitches with 49 for strikes.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior left-hander Aiden Leggett of Hendrix provided a key 5.0 IP relief outing in Hendrix's rubber-match victory over Austin College. The senior earned the win-in-relief, punching out six hitters and scattering four hits across his 5.0 innings to limit the 'Roos bats. Senior right-hander Will Podsednik of LeTourneau picked up the win in relief in game two of the series at Schreiner as he threw three shutout innings. He entered the game in the sixth inning of a tie game and retired nine of the 10 hitters he faced, including three strikeouts, to notch his fifth win of the year. Sophomore right-hander Armando Rocha of St. Thomas delivered a complete-game performance on the mound, going 9.0 innings to earn the win while allowing just one run on five hits. He added four strikeouts and limited opponents to a .161 batting average, finishing with a 1.00 ERA. First-year left-hander Jack Grames of Texas Lutheran tossed a seven-inning complete game shutout, facing just five batters over the minimum. He allowed four hits and two walks, while striking out three to improve to 8-2 this season.
