Ladies Fall In Five Sets To Dallas
The Centenary volleyball team fell in five sets to the University of Dallas Crusaders on Saturday afternoon in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest inside the Maher Athletic Center.
Irving, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team fell in five sets to the University of Dallas Crusaders on Saturday afternoon in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest inside the Maher Athletic Center.
Dallas won the first set, 25-21, and took the second set, 25-18 and appeared poised to sweep the Ladies, but the Maroon and White responded with a 25-20 win in set three and tied the match with a 25-12 win in set four. The Crusaders then clinched the win with a 15-13 win in set five.
The Ladies (2-12, 1-7 SCAC) lost for the fifth time in a row and dropped to 0-6 in road matches this season. The Crusaders upped their record to 2-18 overall and 1-7 SCAC) in league play.
Centenary recorded its second-best hitting percentage of the season, finishing with 46 kills in 136 total attacks and 21 errors. The Ladies added 57 digs, 43 assists, nine service aces, and six solo blocks. Dallas hit just .083 with 44 kills and 32 errors in 145 total attacks tallied 56 digs, 41 assists, 16 aces, and five solo blocks.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday with a non-conference match against nationally-ranked East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas at 6 PM.
