Ladies On Road This Weekend For Pair Of SCAC Matches
The Centenary volleyball team is back on the road in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend, beginning with a match versus the University of The Ozarks Eagles on Friday at 5 PM inside Mabee Gymnasium.

Clarksville, Ark. – The Centenary volleyball team is back on the road in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend, beginning with a match versus the University of The Ozarks Eagles on Friday at 5 PM inside Mabee Gymnasium.

The Ladies (2-13, 1-7 SCAC) took a break from conference play on Tuesday as they were swept by the nationally-ranked East Texas Baptist University Tigers in Marshall, Texas. Centenary fell to 0-7 on the road this season and lost for the sixth time in a row overall. Ozarks (3-11, 1-7 SCAC) is on a seven-match losing streak and is 2-1 at home this season.
Friday marks the second meeting between the Ladies and Eagles after the Maroon and White snapped a 57-match losing streak in conference play on Sept. 28 with a 3-1 victory in Shreveport. The Ladies won the first set 25-23, were edged 25-21 in the second set, took set three 25-21, and closed out the victory 25-22 in set four.
That victory last month was the Ladies' first SCAC victory since Oct. 9, 2021 when they defeated the University of St. Thomas 3-1. The Ladies recorded season highs in digs (71), assists (44) and their 50 kills were also a season best. They added 12 service aces, their second-most to the 22 posted against Wiley on Aug. 30.
The Ladies have 506 digs, 371 kills, 335 assists, 92 aces, and 18 solo blocks this season.

The Ladies wrap up the weekend on Saturday against the Hendrix College Warriors at 2 PM in Conway, Ark. The Warriors are 13-3 and 7-1 in SCAC play and will face LeTourneau University at home on Friday.
