Ladies Swept By Warriors On Saturday
The Centenary volleyball team was swept by the Hendrix College Warriors in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon inside Grove Gymnasium.
Conway, Ark. – The Centenary volleyball team was swept by the Hendrix College Warriors in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon inside Grove Gymnasium.
Hendrix took set one, 25-8, won set two 25-26, and cinched the sweep with a 25-19 win in set three. The Ladies (2-15, 1-9 SCAC) lost their eighth-straight match and fell to 0-9 on the road this season. The Warriors improved to 15-3 overall and 9-1 in league play and are a perfect 7-0 at home.
Centenary finished with 38 digs, 16 kills, 15 assists, and six service aces and Hendrix recorded 46 digs, 32 kills, 28 assists, five aces, and one solo block. Hendrix tallied 47 digs, 33 assists, 33 kills, and eight aces.
Ladies' Individual Statistical Leaders:
Aces: Sophomore S Jadyn Harris (Fort Worth, Texas) – 3
Assists: Harris – 10
Digs: Junior OH/DS Destiny Labbe (Eunice, La.) – 10
Kills: Freshman OH/DS Zoe Garcia (Magnolia, Texas) and Labbe – 5 each
The Ladies will step out of conference play on Tuesday as they will face Southern Arkansas University in a non-conference contest at home set for 6 PM at the Gold Dome.
