Ladies Finish Fourth In MIC Championship At Home
The Centenary gymnastics team finished fourth in the annual Midwest Independent Conference Championships on Friday as the Ladies earned a team score of 189.200 inside the Gold Dome.
Shreveport – The Centenary gymnastics team finished fourth in the annual Midwest Independent Conference Championships on Friday as the Ladies earned a team score of 189.200 inside the Gold Dome.
The Ladies, serving as host for the event for the first time since 2019, welcomed fellow MIC members Illinois State University, Southeast Missouri State University, and Texas Woman's University to town for the prestigious event.

The Illinois State Redbirds claimed the team title with a 196.025 score as TWU finished second (194.800), and SEMO finished third (194.725). Illinois State, a division 1 program, entered the meet ranked 42nd nationally in the latest Road to Nationals rankings, TWU, a division II school, is 48th, SEMO (D1) is 59th, and the Ladies are 80th.
The Ladies finished with a 48.100 on bars, a 47.350 on vault, and an identical 46.875 on both beam and floor. Senior Sophie Schmitz (Trophy Club, Texas) finished third in the All-Around with a score of 37.900 and the Ladies' two best individual scores of the meet were 9.70 by senior Emma Lavelle (Mandeville, La.) on beam and junior Olivia Stratmann (Houston, Texas) on bars.
