Four Teams Secure Spots In Team Finals After Exciting Opening Day Of WCGNIC
The Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) Gymhawks, the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights, the Texas Woman’s University Pioneers, and the West Chester University Golden Rams advanced to the team finals of the 2025 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships after impressive performances in their respective sessions inside the Gold Dome.
Shreveport – The Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) Gymhawks, the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights, the Texas Woman's University Pioneers, and the West Chester University Golden Rams advanced to the team finals of the 2025 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships after impressive performances in their respective sessions inside the Gold Dome.
SEMO and Bridgeport finished first and second respectively in the opening session while TWU won the evening session and West Chester finished second.
The prestigious event, formerly named the USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships, featured an afternoon and evening session on Friday, an continues with an evening session on Saturday for team finals (7 p.m.), and then one session on Sunday afternoon (1 p.m.) which is the individual event finals.

The Centenary College Ladies earned one of the eight spots in the event and were joined by the University of Alaska, the University of Bridgeport, Greenville University, Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), Southern Connecticut State University, Texas Woman's University, and West Chester University. Eight individuals will also be competing – Diamond Cook of Wilberforce University and seven Fisk University gymnasts.
SEMO scored a 193.875 to edge Bridgeport (193.325), Southern Connecticut State University finished third (190.900), and Greenville University was fourth at 187.875. Texas Woman's University won the evening session with a score of 195.700 and West Chester University finished second (192.850) as the Pioneers and Golden Rams will join SEMO and Bridgeport in Saturday evening's team finals. The University of Alaska finished third in the evening session (190.625) and the Ladies scored a 190.400, their second-highest score of the season.
The championship will conclude on Sunday with individual finals. The top five individual scores on each event from the two sessions advance to Sunday's event finals. The individual all-around results were based off of Friday's sessions.
The complete list of individuals who qualified to compete in Sunday's finals is below. Senior Emma Lavelle (Mandeville, La.) will represent the Ladies in Sunday's individual finals following her team-high and career-high score of 9.775 on floor and Lavelle has earned First-Team All-American status based on her appearance in the individual finals. All individuals listed below have earned First-Team All-American status. The gymnasts are listed below in the order in which they will compete on their respective events.

SESSION ONE RECAP:
SEMO earned its highest score of the meet on beam – 48.625, led by Taylor Ingle with a 9.825 in the sixth and final spot in the rotation. The Gymhawks scored an identical 48.500 on both bars and floor and a 48.250 on vault. Ingle won the All-Around with a score of 39.225) and Bridgeport's Abigail Kenney finished second at 38.950.
Bridgeport's best score of the afternoon was on floor (48.750), followed by a 47.650 on bars, a 48.525 on beam, and a 48.400 on vault. Kenney highlighted the Purple Knights' overall performance with three top-five finishes and her runner-up finish in the All-Around.
Southern Connecticut State earned its best mark of the meet on floor (48.850) and Greenville's top score was a 47.975 on beam. Fisk's Ciniah Rosby finished third in the AA (38.900) behind Ingle and Kenney. Two Greenville gymnasts – Amara Nelson (37.675) and Ashlie Leage (37.250) placed fourth and fifth in the AA. Diamond Cook of Wilberforce scored a 9.75 on floor to tie for seventh place.

SESSION TWO RECAP:
TWU was impressive on floor, earning its top score of the meet in the event (49.075) as three gymnasts earned a 9.825 or higher. The Pioneers also tallied identical scores of 48.925 on both bars and beam and a 48.775 on vault.
West Chester's top score was a 48.700 on beam followed by a 48.500 on floor. The Golden Rams earned a 47.825 on both bars and vault. Alaska's best score was on beam (48.800) while the Ladies' best score was a 47.950 on floor.
Centenary scored a 190.400 team score, its second-highest of the season. Senior Sophie Schmitz (Trophy Club, Texas) was second in the session in the AA (37.850) behind Fisk's Morgan Price (39.350).
Lavelle tied for sixth on floor with her impressive 9.80 and sophomore Olivia Williams (Cape Coral, Fla.) tied for eighth with a 9.75. Junior Claire Flores (Oklahoma City, Okla.) tied for 14th place with a 9.675.
Lavelle finished in a tie for 11th place on beam (9.75), freshman Anna Ichiba (Murphy, Texas) earned a season and career-best 9.70 to finish in a tie for 18th place, and senior Mylia Vidtor (The Colony, Texas) finished 21st with a 9.50.
Schmitz earned the Ladies' best finish on bars (9.70) as she tied for 10th place, junior Olivia Stratmann (Houston, Texas) finished 15th (9.575) and Flores earned a 9.55 to finish 16th. Flores led the way on vault with a 9.575 as she tied for 12th and Schmitz finished 15th with a 9.525. Lavelle, competing at nationals for the third time in her career, will make her finals debut on Sunday.
