KANSAS CITY, Mo.�-The Centenary men's golf team (295-308-305) shot a three-round score of 908 to place 9th at The Summit League Golf Championship held at Oakwood Country Club in Kansas City on Tuesday.
Oral Roberts (287-293-280) finished in first place with a score of 860, four under par, while UMKC (281-299-289) came in second with an 869. South Dakota State (296-292-282) and Western Illinois (296-293-281) rounded out the top three tying one another with a total of 870.
For the Gents, junior Nick Faitz (74-76-75) played consistently well over 54 holes, tying for 24th with a total of 225 to lead the way for Centenary. Sophomore Greg Berthelot (72-79-76) finished in a tie for 27th with a 227.
Teammate John Hogan (74-76-78) completed three rounds with a score of 228 to tie for 32nd. Mark Weeber (75-78-79, 232) and Denver Green (79-78-76, 233) completed the Gents' lineup in 39th and tied for 40th respectively.
Taking home the individual title was ORU's Scott Stiles (68-70-69) with a nine under par, 207, over three rounds. Trent Peterson (73-71-67, 211) of SDSU finished second, while Kyle Peterman (72-72-68) of WIU took home third.�
