ELMHURST, Ill. �- After helping improve Centenary's (332-310, 642) score from the first day at the Jackson State Pizza Hut/Bell South Invitational, sophomore Greg Berthelot was named The Summit League male Golfer of the Week.
Berthelot (86-73, 159) averaged a 79.5 over the weekend, but cut 13 strokes off of his score after his first round total of 86. The Baton Rouge, La., native finished the tournament in 22nd place.
For the season, Berthelot has a 78.6 stroke average in 11 rounds and has led Centenary in 3-of-4 events. His 22nd place finish was also his best tournament completion this season -- he previously placed 43rd and 54th.
Centenary's next tournament will be on Saturday and Sunday in Crestview, Fla., at the Troy University Invitational.
