Pisgah Forest, N.C. - The Tornados teed off this past Monday and Tuesday at nearby Glen Cannon Country Club in the Montreat College Spring Invitational. Brevard shot a first round 299 and posted the low round on day two with a 296 to finish in 2nd place overall with 595, 19-over, six strokes behind tournament champion Limestone College.
Freshman Joshua Davis earned All-Tournament honors, placing in third after shooting 145, 1-over for the tournament, finishing three strokes behind medalist Brad Williams (Limestone). Bret McGaughey went under par in day two, posting a 1-under, 71 to finish in seventh place overall and Grant Carnie finished in the top 10, shooting 148 in the two days, finishing with a 148, 4-over as the trio paced Coach David Nelson's squad to the 2nd place finish
The Tornados next match is on Saturday, March 21, as Brevard takes part of the Blue Ridge Mountain Challenge in Etowah, N.C. against conference opponents Newberry, Catawba and Tusculum.
