Lossiemouth, SCOTLAND - Brevard College men's golfer Grant Carnie (Aberdeen, SCOTLAND) captured one of the most noteworthy wins in program history last week, winning the North of Scotland Five-Day Open. The tournament, which has been contested for more than a century, attracted a field of 340 competitors from around the globe.
Carnie advanced to the match-play round of 32 by firing stroke play rounds of 74 and 71. Once in the single-elimination stage of the tournament, Carnie took all five of his matches with resounding victories, including a 9&7 victory in the semifinals and a 3&1 win in the championship match.
Carnie and his Tornado teammates finished 4th in the SAC Championships last March, and begin their first season as full members of NCAA Division II in September.
