Westworth Village, Texas – The Centenary men's golf team shot a 17-over par 305 on Monday in round one of the Crusader Cup hosted by the University of Dallas as the Gents are in a tie for fourth place at Hawk's Creek Golf Club.

The Gents, playing in their final tournament of the Fall season, are joined this week by the host Crusaders, Concordia University, Howard Payne University, Lyon College, Schreiner University, Texas Lutheran University, and the University of St. Thomas. The field is being tested by a par 72, a 6,712-yard layout. The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
TLU and St. Thomas are tied for the team lead after each shot a 10-over par 298 and are three shots ahead of third-place Lyon (13-over par 301). The Gents are tied with Concordia and are only seven shots off the team lead entering the final round. Schreiner is sixth (+21, 309), Dallas' "A" and "B" teams are seventh and eighth place respectively at 27-over 315 and 36-over 324, and Howard Payne is ninth at 44-over par 332.
Antonio Ramirez of UST holds the individual lead after firing a 3-under par 69 on Monday and is two shots ahead of Centenary senior Andrew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) who shot a 1-under 71. Bennett, who is chasing his third career win, owns 11 top-10 finishes and eight top-five finishes.
Junior Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) shot a 3-over par 75 and is tied for 10th place, sophomore Aubrey Snell (Shreveport, La.) is tied for 25th after shooting a 6-over 78, freshman Ryder Briggs (Blanchard, La.) shot a 9-over par 81 and is tied for 33rd place, and senior Tyler Jones (Stonewall, La.) shot an 11-over par 83 and is tied for 43rd place.
