SUWANEE, Ga. -- In exclusive voting by the head coaches and sports information directors of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), the league office today announced the 2025 men's golf postseason award winners. 2025 All-SCAC Men's Golf Team
Andrew Bennett of Centenary College and Antonio Ramirez of University of St. Thomas were named the Co-Golfers of the Year, while Trinity University's Sam Rossi earned Freshman of the Year honors. St. Thomas' Head Coach Billy Tuten was named the league's Coach of the Year for the second time in the last three seasons.
Bennett, a senior from Bossier City, La., is just the fifth men's golfer in SCAC history to win at least a share of Conference Golfer of the Year honors in consecutive seasons after winning the award in 2024 as well. He is the first since Southwestern's Tyler Gammill achieved the feat in 2016 and 2017. A GCAA Division III PING All-Region and SCAC Honorable Mention honoree this year, Bennett closed out his career as the top ranked player in the conference finishing 36th nationally and seventh regionally in the final CLIPPD rankings. Bennett posted five top-3 finishes this year in nine events, including three individual medalist honors, highlighted by back-to-back wins in March at the FST Pinecrest Invitational and the Centenary/Hal Sutton Invite. He finished the year with an impressive 341-65-7 combined record against all opponents and an adjusted scoring average of 72.0.
Ramirez, a sophomore from League City, Texas was the medalist at the SCAC Championships this season, recording a three-round score of 223 (76-75-72), including birding his final three holes to secure the individual title. His efforts also helped lift St. Thomas to its SCAC crown in the last three years and a spot in the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships. A First Team All-SCAC and GCAA Division III PING All-Region honorees, Ramirez finished the season ranked 48th nationally and ninth regionally after posting three top-3 finishes in nine events, highlighted by his win at the conference championship in April. He ended the year with a cumulative record of 447-198-18 against all competitors and posted an adjusted scoring average of 72.2. Ramirez is the second Celt in UST men's golf history to earn Golfer of the Year honors, joining Cade Kiser who was honored in 2023.
Rossi, a freshman from Los Angeles, Calif., burst onto the scene and produced and outstanding rookie campaign. A GCAA Division III PING All-Region and SCAC Honorable Mention honoree, Rossi finished his first year ranked 49th in the country and 10th regionally, highlighted by his medalist honors following an eight-stroke win at the Space City Classic in February. He closed the year with an impressive 423-207-21 record against all opponents and posted a 72.5 adjusted scoring average. Rossi is the third Trinity men's golfer in the last five years to earn Freshman of the Year accolades, following in the footsteps of his current teammate Neel Sandhu who earned the honor in 2023 and former Tiger standout Giorgio Gianoulis in 2021.
Tuten earned Coach of the Year honors after leading St. Thomas to the 2025 SCAC Men's Golf Championship, and a berth in the NCAA Division III Golf Championship field. It marked the Celts second SCAC crown in the last three years. Under the guidance of Tuten, the Celts turned in four top-3 team finishes in nine events this year, highlighted by the SCAC Title and finished the season ranked 39th nationally and 11th regionally with a team adjusted scoring average of 296.3.
In his 10th season at the helm of both Celts' golfing programs, the SCAC COTY honor is the second for Tuten, previously winning the award in 2023.
